How do most people react to non-humans? [Smoker dated a non-human in route so... yeah. He's genuinely not sure what the "normal" attitude is about it.]

I don't think it's fair to force pokemon to learn, but if they can, and want to, that's better for them to communicate, isn't it? It's pretty hard being stuck unable to express yourself.

Besides, there are some animals in my world who can speak human, so it doesn't seem too strange to me.
