Lightning and Hope are gone, which leaves us without leaders. That also cuts our numbers down to ten.

So, my question for your guys is "what next?" I don't think we should disband; just a quick look at the network will show that goons like Cobra are still at large. Still, we're gonna need some structural changes. New leaders, possibly new squads, and, more importantly, new members.

I guess I just want to know what you think. I don't know every one of you personally, but the PGC is supposed to be a team, so everyone should have a chance at giving feedback. I think if we sort out our strengths and weaknesses, that could help us with restructuring. It might be better to have multiple leaders so that if anyone disappears, there's people to fall back on. Maybe each squad can have one, beats me.

I'm gonna throw up an anonymous message in a sec to see about gathering newbies, though. If you've got friends you'd like to recommend, might as well bring them up now.

[Shortly after the PGC message pops up, a second message appears:]

What does this world mean to you? Do you think it's something worth protecting, or would you rather sit on the sidelines and watch it burn? This place is more than sunshine and Pokémon battles. If given the choice to make a difference, would you take it?

[He remembers Lightning doing something like this before. He'll just have to keep his fingers crossed that it works.]

Right, well, see you then I guess. I don't think I'll be going anywhere, and if I do, I'll put something up on the feed... Nothing specific, so don't worry about that.

Touche. I've already gotten word that one of their members has a reusable Explosion TM, and that's bad enough on its own. Charging right into the fray might be what they want us to do.

And I guess not all of them are as blatant as Cobra Commander. Makes me wonder how many Rockets there are who've managed to blend in this whole time. That's something important to consider, right? I'd hate for someone to try and sabotage our efforts from the inside...

You're still looking at it wrong. It's not really about what they want you to do, is it? That's assuming something about them — that their movements actively include a trap they're laying for you.

The way you should be thinking is, what will they expect you to do. In other words, what assumptions will they be carrying about you — and how can you circumvent them.

Hmmm, that's reasonable. Who were you thinking to pick as leaders? Or at least, I'm assuming you have some candidates, right?

[If not, well she might have to volunteer. The idea that Riku might have already pegged her as one does not occur to her, of course.]

I'm never one to turn down recognition and praise, though I hardly expect it from the likes of you.

That's definitely a must. You can't just throw rookies into combat and hope they'll just be lucky enough to figure out how to be a team.

Money is a good incentive. TMs or Pokémon themselves could be another option. It depends on what your end goal is. Rockets steal Pokémon, don't they? What if we stole them back? [Finders-keepers.]

Maka? Never heard of her. No, wait --

[A few minutes later, she texts an addition:] She bought a Ponyta off me last April. That's all I know.

That still doesn't tell me what you're trying to do. Eradicate all crime? Really, if that were at all possible don't you think it would have happened decades ago?

If justice were really stronger than people's will to do idiotic things, this wouldn't be a problem to begin with. However...

[Gotta like a guy who knows exactly how sketchy he sounded. Based on that alone, Rin was more than willing to give whatever he said a chance.]

United fronts are wonderful, and offer a great advantage over the selfish minds that would attack others in the first place. But creating that front can be tricky, with everyone so spread over the land.

[Especially when people disappear.]

That's more than alright with me. We've worked together before, a little. I think she'll be a great addition.

[The trust is already there from Katara's end. She has a good feeling about Tenten, and she seems dependable. Katara tends to trust her feelings with people.]

He's from the same world as Tenten, he was the leader of his village back home. You'll probably want to speak with him to see for yourself, though. I'll let him know, and he might try getting in touch with you himself.

Should we maybe try to get everyone together in one place? It might be easier than having you and everyone else spread out while we try to figure things out.

Booster packs with TMs could work. We could have a few different packets-- offense, defense, support, stuff like that.

As far as getting stolen Pokémon back, it might be better to hand them into the police. Seems kind of unfair to keep them to ourselves, you know? I think it'd be better to just hand out eggs if they need to bolster their team.

Anyway, I'd get in touch with her sometime soon. It'd help when we start reworking the squads, right?

Well, I guess that depends on how many of them actually know about the PGC. Guess the smartest route to take is a subtle one-- monitoring their movements, stealthy counterattacks. Probably disguising ourselves when we do make a move, that way they don't target us later.

Works for me.

It won't be hard to miss me, anyway. I usually travel with my Charizard, so that'll give you a clue.

Well, they've been leaking plans from the inside, so I'd hope that they're helpful. The guy who pointed them out seems to think so, so there's an added perk.

[Then again, one man's word isn't always enough. All the same, it's not like good people haven't been tossed into TR before.]

After all, both regions know how you got struck down from the sky thanks to that news broadcast.

It's all about the numbers. We can't possibly destroy their organization overnight, but we've still held them back. Interfered with their attacks, stolen intel from one of their bases.

If nothing else, we're at least trying to fix the problems, unlike the Jennies.

Good. That's just what I need to hear.

So, for a few follow up questions: do you think you and your team can handle the possible dangers?

I'm gonna need to know your strengths and weaknesses, too. This is all filtered, so you don't have to worry about it falling into the wrong hands.

I'm not one for taking a defeatist attitude. Crime obviously won't go anywhere, but there are ways of fighting back.

Call it stubborn persistence if you want.

But it looks like Maka's looking to join, so there's another point in our favor.

[Why yes, he just went there. Twilight's smart, capable, and she's been here long enough that he can trust her to stuck around.]

Since were down to three squads, that'd leave Katara, Tenten, and Ren to decide who leads their group, and I guess I could lead my squad. Doubt Sora and Xion'd have many objections, though I'd have to check with Lancer.

Then it's just a matter of building our new squads and figuring out their leaders.
