islandshore: (Rival Riku wants to battle!)

01 - voice/action;

Wonder when we'll run into some tougher Pokemon. All the ones I've run into are way too easy.

[A pause, followed by the sound of his nidoran letting out a sad "Nyeh".]

Anyone want to battle? I could use a real challenge.

[Anyone en route to Violet City is sure to find Riku sooner or later. And why?

Because he's keeping his eyes out for any passing trainers. Battling wild Pokemon is fine and dandy, but level 5s grow old after a while. Those in the lower level ranges beware, for he's been working his Pokemon to the bone, with both of them around levels 8 and 9.]

....Y-You've already battled that many other Pokemon?

That's right. I've been battling nonstop.

Wow! That's...that's incredible. A-Aren't you afraid of wearing out your Pokemon?

How are they supposed to get stronger if they slack off? I'm doing what's best for them, in a way.

You're right.... Um, I don't really like the idea of making Maria-san fight other Pokemon, though.

"Maria-san"? What kind of Pokemon's that?

[voice]

[identity profile] pianissimoe.livejournal.com 2010-06-06 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Um...sh-she's an Oddish!

[voice]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-06-06 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oddish...

[Hmm. Give him a second.]

Haven't run into one of those yet.

It looks a lot like a vegetable, but with feet and a face.

[There's a whimpering sound: Ooooddish]

A-Ah, of course I meant that in a very nice way, Maria-san!

[voice]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-06-06 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Sounds a lot like some of the Pokemon I've seen around here. Think it's called hoppip.

[identity profile] pianissimoe.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! I've seen that one before too! I thought it might be a good friend for Maria-san, but I couldn't manage to catch it...

Y-Yeah, after it broke out of the Pokeball I threw at it.

[voice]

[identity profile] pianissimoe.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
I did a little bit... But I didn't want to hurt it too much.

[voice]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
See, that's the thing. If you want to catch Pokemon, you have to weaken them enough. Hurting them's the only option.

[voice]

[identity profile] pianissimoe.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Y-Yeah, but...but I still don't like it! I don't mind if I don't catch it...

[voice]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
If you say so.

Could always try and go for a Caterpie or Weedle. They're easier to catch.

Ah, all right. I'll try to remember that. Caterpie-san and Weedle-san.
