[He makes a soft 'hmph' and then adds an abrupt text message.]

Those in the hotel may find Riku slipping out of his room from time to time to chill in the lobby and watch the stormy weather outside. For the most part, however, he's avoiding going out. Hi, Riku! He's been fine, actually! I'm happy to help him learn to speak human--I taught a lot of the little kids back home.

I think the problem isn't so much hearing the words so much as getting his vocal chords to work right. He's basically fighting against nature, after all.

As for Phantom... it's pretty typical behavior for Ghost types. They're natural pranksters.

And what's wrong with Kanto? I've grown pretty tired of Johto, and it's not like Celadon's that far if you take the train.

I was just thinking that, if you're opening something to train people, it'd make more sense to open it near all the newcomers.
