So, I already mentioned this to Rainbow Dash, but I figured I might as well clear things up for all the other newbies coming in. A lot of people suggest booking it to Cianwood to get Fly, but here's a fun fact: You can save yourselves weeks of travel if you hitch a train to Saffron instead.
Sabrina gives out the Fly HM if you haven't earned it already, so why waste time when you can hop from Goldenrod to Saffron in a few hours? And if that's not enough incentive, Misty's badge lets you use Surf outside of battles, Surge's lets you use Strength, and Erika's lets you use Fly on the off chance you missed Falkner.
[He smirks, tossing a Pokéball up and down.]
Heck, if you wanted to, you could Fly over the bike path and grab Surf from Janine for good measure. So, basically, you can region hop and get everything you need to make travel a breeze. Besides, Kanto's worth exploring on its own merits. Bigger cities, mountains, caves, and volcanoes... Without ice to make you slip.
Just some food for thought.
Filtered to PGC + Travelmates;
But that's not really why I'm posting this. Got more important things to talk about.
I'm pretty sure Ven already talked to you guys about the info we grabbed, but do we have any concrete plans yet? I heard some talk about using Smokescreen. I've got two Charizards who could get the job done, and I could probably bribe a certain Charmeleon to join in for good measure.
Still don't think smoke alone's gonna cut it, though. It might help to bring some Ghost types to put people to sleep, maybe some Psychics to teleport civilians. Ven and I lucked out during our raid, since that idiot turtle was off destroying the city, but we don't have that kind of cover now.
If anyone else has ideas, I can pass them on to Ven if he doesn't catch this. At least now we have a serious lead; that's one step forward for taking down the Rockets or at least crippling them.

[Because getting to fly as soon as possible is very tempting.]
You'll just want to watch out for nasty moves like Hypnosis and Confuse Ray.
[At least her standard team doesn't have a death Wobbuffet, as far as he knows, though.]

[Make that fifty levels, really.]

But that's not what they're here for, anyway. No, they're here about the Radio Tower.]
Putting people to sleep may not work, you know. Hypnosis doesn't have the best accuracy, and neither does Sing. [speaking from experience, she is.] Do you really want to take the chance that it doesn't work and somebody sounds the alarm?
[He shrugs. Really, at least it's not 100,000 or something ridiculous like that.
But that's definitely what this is all about. There are more important things to discuss.]
Well, there's always Spore, but not many Pokémon can learn it.
[Hmm.]
Something like Paralysis could work, though. Thunder Wave's almost impossible to dodge, especially when you don't expect it.
And Electric types that can learn that move are pretty common. Anyone with a Flaafy or Ampharos would be able to use it. [And those are easy to find. Relatively easy to train, too.] We could use the smoke as cover; wait for people to run out, then go in and clean up the ones who stayed behind. We'd need to move fast, though.

While we're on the subject, has anyone made a newbie guide? Nothing fancy just a hey, this is what could help you at X. A lot like this, actually.
[Voice]
[He'll go ahead and attach a link. It's incredibly wordy, oops.]
It's a few months old, though, so I might have to go back in and do some tweaks. Add bits like this, for one.

But I won't be staying there long, for obvious reasons. If you want a teleporting Psychic-type, I have Starswirl, and both Spike and Tesla have Thunder Wave to paralyze anyone we run into, though I'm a little hesitant about bringing out a Dragonite indoors.
I've got an Electivire, Luxray, Raichu, and Rotom to throw in for good measure, so we'll have at least a handful of electrics on our side.

And that Pichu that hatched from the egg you sold me knows Thunder Wave... but I'm not really comfortable involving him in something like this anytime soon. He's still pretty young... and he'd attack a level 100 Dugtrio just because he thinks he should be able to beat it.
But I guess that really depends on how long it takes us to plan all of this, doesn't it? I mean, it might be a decently leveled Pikachu if it takes long enough for us to plan this out.

But you're right about time. We can't just rush in, guns blazing. Our best bet's to strike when they least expect it.

Especially when I am pretty sure of what to expect of Kanto... except I have no idea who Janine is.
Okay so my info isn't perfect, that's not my fault!

Good advice. I'll keep my monsters' noses to the grind, then, so we can do that.

[All the more reason to push 'em, really. It's a good few months of training before most are even capable of facing her.]

What is the route if you arrived in the region through Pallet Town?
video
Well, to get to Saffron from Pallet, you have to go straight through Viridian, Pewter, Mt. Moon, Cerulean, and finally Saffron City. I'd say you've got a few months before you'd reach her on foot.
