[It's been months since they last talked. Months since they'd even seen each other. And with Terra wide awake now, Riku decides enough is enough and shoots Ven a message via PokéGear.

I don't know how many friends he actually made here, but I figured I'd pass the message along. It's probably what he'd want, right? And it's not like this place ever gives people a chance to say goodbye. Why change things now?

You'd think that after every other disappearance we'd all be used to it, but it never gets easier. Not with the people who really matter. But Kairi's left about a million times now, and I've lost plenty of other friends. Guess it was only a matter of time before he waltzed off, too.

Just... let me know if you wound up with any of his Pokémon, okay? Otherwise, I'll be around.

And you're right, it's not easy, but I should still be used to it. It's just a million times harder when the person who leaves lasted so long. It was hard to imagine this place without him.

I'd say it was. He helped found... well, he played a part in something huge that I'm not really at liberty to describe.

That, and he's donated bucket loads of money to repair damage from some explosions a while back, probably made about a million friends during his time here... He's one of those guys who has to befriend everyone.

From everything else you just said, I can only assume whatever might be confidential, it was to his credit.

But. What explosion do might you mean?

It was a good while back. Bombs went off in several of the cities, and then everybody started getting weird powers and mutations.

Not the smoothest summer, if you ask me.

That sounds like something right out of a magic heroes show.

Was the cause for the incident ever discovered?

People suspected Team Rocket involvement, though I don't know if we got all the details. What I do know is that some of the Rockets used the powers they gained to attack the Gyms. I actually ran into one of them.

And I take it they're still a current problem to the gyms, too?

I heard about the attack on one not too long ago.

Sometimes. It's not a constant problem, but I'd say the Rockets get restless every few months.

And I assume there's little way of knowing when they'll strike again?

Yeah. It's basically a waiting game until they get bored enough to stir trouble.
