03 - video;

[The video focuses on a small group of four Pokemon. Among them are a Nidorino, Haunter, Pidgeot, and an Ivysaur.

The video then switches to Riku, who's looking pretty smug.]

Looks like Highwind's finally reached his final stage, and the others can't be too far behind. Still, Slacker and Phantom are almost at the same level, and they haven't evolved yet. At this rate I'm starting to think they're not going to evolve just by training.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: Anyone know how to evolve a Nidorino and a Haunter?

Good luck, Riku!

Y'know, the nurse at the pokemon center's really helpful about stuff like that.

I was just thinking I'd visit one, want me to ask?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, I guess. I'm sure it can't be too hard.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
If you want. Guess that's one way to get answers.

[identity profile] her-mouse-jesty.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, Sora told me some Pokemon only evolve with special stones.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Stones, huh? I wonder if that's how it works with these two.

[He glances over at his team. Hmmm.]

[identity profile] her-mouse-jesty.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It might be! I've only heard about the Fire Stone, but maybe there are others.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I doubt a Fire Stone would work, anyway. I don't have any fire types yet.

[identity profile] her-mouse-jesty.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oops! Good point.

[identity profile] freshbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I figure they're sure to know more than we do.

Just gimme a few minutes, and I'll let you know what they say.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Still, I wonder what other stones there are. One for every type?

You trade the Haunter! I don't know about the other one, though.

[identity profile] freshbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[And a handful of minutes later...]

It's a moonstone for that Ni...dosomething, and you trade the other one, I guess.

Got to learn about Eevee too.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Nidorino. So I do have to get a stone... Huh. And I didn't know Pokemon evolved by trading them.

[Interesting stuff there.]

[ video ]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as I don't have to trade for good, that's fine by me. Kind of a waste if giving him away's the only way to make him stronger.

[identity profile] freshbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's news to me too. I wonder what it is about trading that'd make them evolve like that...

[Since he's simply decided these stones must be magical, he's not so concerned about that. However...]

Hey, Riku?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah?

[ video ]

[identity profile] yattagarasu.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it'll be okay if you trade it back, since there's probably going to be someone else who needs to do the same thing. That's what I saw when I was working.

[identity profile] freshbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
If your pokemon'd evolve differently depending on what you chose to do with it, how would you decide what's best?

[Because Riku seems much more into this evolution business than he is]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd go with whatever suits my training style, I guess. Why?

[ video ]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. So it's not just Haunters that evolve by trading.

[ video ]

[identity profile] yattagarasu.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope! There was this weird kind of fox-looking thing, and a blue thing with muscles...

[ video ]

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a pain, though. I'm guessing this only works at Pokemon centers.

[identity profile] freshbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well the nurse at the pokemon center said Eevee could evolve into all sorts of things. If she gets stronger and she's happy, then it could be one of two things depending on whether it's day or night.

And then I guess there're a few kinds of stones that'll make her turn into other types too. It seems sort of...daunting.

[identity profile] scarredprodigy.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm...have you tried looking into those weird stones?
