Lightning and Hope are gone, which leaves us without leaders. That also cuts our numbers down to ten.

So, my question for your guys is "what next?" I don't think we should disband; just a quick look at the network will show that goons like Cobra are still at large. Still, we're gonna need some structural changes. New leaders, possibly new squads, and, more importantly, new members.

I guess I just want to know what you think. I don't know every one of you personally, but the PGC is supposed to be a team, so everyone should have a chance at giving feedback. I think if we sort out our strengths and weaknesses, that could help us with restructuring. It might be better to have multiple leaders so that if anyone disappears, there's people to fall back on. Maybe each squad can have one, beats me.

I'm gonna throw up an anonymous message in a sec to see about gathering newbies, though. If you've got friends you'd like to recommend, might as well bring them up now.

In that case, I'm gonna need a few things from you. First: strengths and weaknesses. Second, I'd like to schedule an in-person meeting with you, just as a precaution. It's customary for new recruits.

It's mostly for record keeping and organizational purposes, should you decide to hop in. Our organization's divided up into squads, so we'll want to make sure we set you guys up in teams that work to your advantages, if that makes sense.

[ He'll go into this with a measure of skepticism. After all, he wasn't quite sure who was behind this or if it really was for the protection of those brought to this world... but he didn't have much to lose.

His response is delayed by about twenty minutes. He had to think about this after all. ]

I can fight. I can tell you that much. If you need someone who can tend to the sick and wounded, I can do that too.

As for meeting, I'm afraid I have no way of travelling anywhere far from Goldenrod at the moment.

And as for Maka, seeing how you're friends and all, I won't make her jump hoops to prove herself. Gonna have to meet with some of these guys before they join the ranks.

AJ and Rainbow Dash? Consider them as good as in, as long as they're up for the job.

How good would you say you are when it comes to team organization? I know you're sharp, and you've done a pretty good job strategizing with Pokémon before. We're just gonna need to figure out how to reconstruct the squads in a strategic fashion.

See, there's a group of us who've been fighting the Rockets from the shadows for a while now. Think of this as an interest check.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I just can't take such a cynical outlook when I feel there's a better route.

At the very least, I think it's better to alleviate some of the problem than let it hit a downward spiral.

[Well, at this point, it's probably safe to drop the cryptic facade. Though Riku's last encounter with Yusuke was on slightly rocky terms, he doesn't exactly scream criminal mastermind. Besides, they need all the help they can get.

That's because most people here would rather live in ignorance. I mean, it's like they say, ignorance is bliss. Why worry about problems that don't directly affect them? Except those problems could affect them at any time. Case in point? Falkner's Elite Team went missing for months. Kind of puts a damper in that whole badge collecting business.

[He waves off the idea with one of his hands. At one point, he would've happily fixated on the challenges of training. Now that he's got all sixteen badges, there's no reason to.]

So, yeah, there's others. Our organization's lost some of its members recently, but that's why we're reaching out. Trying to grab newbies and bolster the squads. Once you get all the badges, there's not much to do besides bide your time; the PGC's a good alternative to wasting away in endless boredom.

Nah, that's fine. We've got different skill sets, and while I can handle strategies in a fight, all this organizational stuff's still kind of new to me.

I'm no Lightning, so I appreciate the extra hand.

[ flicks Riku on the forehead for that one! ]

Hmmm... I'll need quite a bit of information. Pokemon team statistics, who they've worked with in the past, any skills outside of training that can be useful, that sort of thing. But if I have all that, I think I can handle it.

And what makes you worth supporting? Words don't carry much weight on their own.

That sounds convenient. Speaking of TM's I actually have a reusable Ice Beam, so it should prove useful as well.

Well, if it weren't for people like you I would still be out of a job. It works both ways, really.

It's the natural order of things. The stronger, more adept things prey on the weaker things, that's all. I suppose you're interested in what separates us from the metaphorical dogs? The drive to protect other people despite the natural order.

[John just laughs as he responds with video as well.]

I should have known it was you. And hey, you're as old as you feel, you know? It works both ways.

[That...probably says more about John than anything he's ever said about anything ever. Between mentally repeating years and going through more than any kid his age rightly should, John is sometimes surprised to remember that he's only on the brink of seventeen.]

I see. I don't approve of that at all. Pokemon's rating is supposed to be kid-friendly.

Heh, not bad. That'll make dealing with dragon and ground types easier, and those things hit hard.
