Biggest I've got is Highwind, and somehow I doubt he'd be able to fly us around.

I doubt it. So, about that tree... There any way around it? We were gonna take Union Cave, but if there's a shortcut, then I don't see why we can't take it.

I think its a pokemon. And its not always there, cause when I came to Violet from Ectuteak I didn't see it all. I bet you can battle it if it gets in your way.
