Okay, so maybe it was more extreme, but I'm surprised you haven't taken advantage of it. We're always giving each other a hard time.

[It's not that he doesn't appreciate it; he does, but... man, was it wrong of him to assume the worst in this case? Rather than spitting another seed, he falls silent, mulling this over.]

[ Sora takes a bite of melon and chews it. ]

[ Sora tilts his head back and he lurches forward. to launch one of those seeds. ]

Really I just kinda wanted your company. Honest.

Yeah, but what's a contest without its stakes?

[Heh, he'll do the same after chomping down on a particularly large bite.]

Not like you even have to ask for my company.

[And it's here that he does something sappy by loosely wrapping an arm around him.]

Steak sounds pretty good though...

[ Sora snickers, leaning into Riku just a little bit. ]

For all I know you might be getting a little tired of me being around almost all the time.

[ t'was a late night in the house. not a creature was stirring, not even a little electrical mouse. ...this was going to be the start of an action tag with a poem and a rhyme, but really this player doesn't have the time.

Riku had been reading most of the night and Sora, usually bored might have done something to disturb him. not this time. instead Sora had amused himself with some reading of his own.

after some time, Sora puts away his own reading. leans against the armrest of Riku's chair. ]

Hey. Hey Riku.

[When Sora pops up, Riku hastily tucks the books behind his back, jaw clenched and body tensing for the span of a few short seconds.

Why hide the books? The subject matter, mainly. It's kinda embarrassing, but he'll brush it off with a forced chuckle and lean back, draping an arm over the opposite arm rest.]

Heh. You need something?

[heartdive]

[ Riku really shouldn't worry. Sora wouldn't have noticed what the guy's reading at all.

but right now? Sora's got that half asleep look going on. ]

How long are you gonna be up?

[islandshore]

[But it's still embarrassing as heck. Thankfully, Sora hasn't asked, so he'll just lean back, propping his cheek up with one hand while he gives a one-shouldered shrug.]

Long enough, I guess. Why, you ready to pass out?

[heartdive]

Mmmn.

[ pretty noncommittal sounding there. so Sora leans over and bumps his head against Riku's ]

Be right back, kay?

Okay. Not like I'm going anywhere.

[He'll just watch Sora on his way out, sneakily pulling out the book for a moment when he leaves. Just another peek. Maybe he can skim...]

[ it's a few minutes, so Riku has time. basically Sora does his night routine. cleans his face. tries to brush out hair. brush teeth.... and finally change.

only he comes back wearing one of Riku's old pj bottoms. hopefully the other doesn't mind that so much as Sora plants himself right behind Riku. well draping over the back of the chair anyway. ]

[At first, Riku doesn't notice. His nose is in the book, and his face is all crinkled as he reads through the contents.

But he's got a built-in Sora radar, so as soon as he makes it about halfway to the chair, he snaps the book shut again and tucks it away, snorting at Sora's choice in attire.]

Is there a reason why you raided my room?

[He really doesn't mind, but it's amusing. And totally dorky; not that he'd have it any other way.]

Felt like it.

[ reeeeeaching across to ruffle him some biffle hair. ]

Yours are comfy.

[And he reaches up to catch that hand because no, no hair ruffles today.]

Comfy, sure, but aren't they a little big for you? Who's to say you won't walk right out of them?

[ ha! fell for his trap. tired!Sora kind of twines his fingers with Riku's. grinning. ]

You might like it if I did.

[ but they won't. the tie is tied well enough. ]

[Okay, so there might be a bit of redness to his cheeks because of that comment, but you know what? He's gonna run with it. He'll even crack one of those sly Riku smirks.]
