[ ha! fell for his trap. tired!Sora kind of twines his fingers with Riku's. grinning. ]

[Okay, so there might be a bit of redness to his cheeks because of that comment, but you know what? He's gonna run with it. He'll even crack one of those sly Riku smirks.]

I didn't know you could read minds.

Heh. Still surprised that came out of your mouth. Is there something you'd like to share with the class?

He shifts backwards in his seat, which is slightly awkward because of the books, but eh. He'll deal.]

Been almost a year and a half. Kinda adults too.

[ if Riku is going to lean back, then Sora is going to lean forward. so what if he can't ruffle Riku's hair. he can put his nose in it. like a sleepy hedgehog. ]

[He gives Sora a light tap on the forehead.]

[It's there that his smirk grows slightly sheepish, and he shifts the book to the arm of the chair.]

[ Sora's tired brain really is trying to process those words. they are serious words. they should be replied to also seriously. ]

But I figure my heart hasn't led me wrong before. Why would it now? I should just follow it even with this stuff. So there's nothing to feel weird about.

...No, it's not wrong. I just... heh. It's still new, you know? I mean, we've gone pretty far, but nothing like that...

[He's beating around the bush verbally a bit, but hopefully the implication isn't totally lost to Sora. Then again, it is late, and Sora's almost in Snorlaxville.]

[ it takes a minute... then Sora hides his face in all of that hair. yeah blushing a bit. they can beat around the bush. it's not a conversation they've had... ]

[ he's okay with going at this pace. really, he is. ]

[He casts a quick glance to one of the books, grateful that Sora's face is currently hidden in his hair because it means he's not looking at Riku's face right now.]

But it's weird. I mean, you kinda have to expect some level of weirdness with the mechanics and stuff, but geez.

[He waves a hand, though, because he's probably overthinking like always.]

And I bet you're gonna say something cheesy, about how we should go with our hearts, make it special and all that.

I should probably do that some time too. Maybe it should be special and all that... But it'd be better to know what we're doing.

[ not going in blind and all of that. for once Sora is thinking things through. won't Riku be proud. ]

[He scoops up the book, waving it back and forth.]

But I warn you: it's kinda intense.

[He figures it's too late for Sora to go through that kinda reading material, but it's Riku. He's gotta tease.]

[ Sora looks up. so THAT'S what Riku's reading about. he groans. ]

Maybe another time. M'tired. Bed time.

[Not the only thing, but a part of it.

But he'll set the book down, chuckling all the while.]

Heh. So am I keeping you waiting?

[He probably should get some sleep before he ends up with bags under his eyes.]

Hmm. No. You can stay up if you want.

[ he's not Riku's mother. Riku's watchful keeper, maybe. but that street works both ways.

Sora pushes himself up and still keeps his fingers locked with Riku's. he's only moving to the side of the chair, still leaning forward a little. ]

Was just gonna tell you good night and all that sappy stuff that you pretend to be above but not so secretly really like.

[ that's when he leans a bit more, first yawning before giving Riku a little peck on the cheek. ]

So night. Love you.

[ Sora releases Riku and turns to yawn and stretch, heading off to sleep. ]

[...Huh. He actually said it. Took longer than expected, but it brings a softer smile to his face. And, not wanting to leave it at that, Riku snatches Sora's hand, slides out of his chair, and leans in to return the favor.

On the lips, because he's totally classy. The classiest.]

Heh. If I stay up too late, I'd probably turn into a zombie.

[Which is Rikuese for, fine. He'll go, too. They can do something sappy like cuddling or whatever.]

[ it had taken Sora a while. he had been saving it for a good moment! really, he had. but his tired brain just kind of messed that up. it isn't matter. they've both known it for a while. Sora is just as surprised as Riku that Riku is the first to say something like that.

anyway, he doesn't argue with Riku. nah. just gives a little grin. ]

Or you'd just be cranky in the morning.

[He drags himself toward his bed, then flops onto the cushions in the least graceful fashion.]

You can stay here if you want. It's obvious you're about to pass out, so I can deal.

[ Sora takes Riku up on that offer. he's not graceful either, but his movements are much more languid. ]

You know... If you want me here all you really need to do is ask.

[ oh that Riku. really wanting Sora to stick around but making it sound like he's being generous by allowing it. ]

[Then he'll scoot over, give him more room. Y'know, so he's not a bed hog, the big tree that he is.]
