Hello again Riku! This is Emmy, again - I have something very important I need to talk to you about!

[She's still out on some Unidentified Route, because...well this probably isn't the sort of conversation she wants to have in the Rocket Base, um.]

[It doesn't take long for Riku to respond. After all, if it's as important as she says, heck, important enough to lock, that means he should probably put it at the top of his list.

So here he is, all ears.]

Hey, I've got plenty of time to burn. What's up?

[Right. How to put this delicately...even with the lock on the conversation, it might be better to not be overly blunt.]

I recently spoke to Twilight, in regards to that club we're all a part of? She told me that you're the leader now.

I just thought I'd better report in, and catch up on what I've missed.

[With any luck, that will get the message across.]

[Oh! So it is PGC business. Well then, where to start?

Give Riku a second while he strokes his chin in thought.]

Well, our numbers have plummeted, for starters. I plan on doing another round of recruitment to fix that. As for the Rockets, they've been a bit too quiet. Last real attack was on the Magnet Train a few months back, but they were low-ranking grunts.

Before that, "Seth" went and set up bombs around Olivine. And these weren't Voltorbs-- they were real bombs, which means the Rockets have started to up their game.

So our numbers have dropped, and Seth is still around. Neither of those things are very good...

[She's not surprised to hear about Seth, but it does bother her. The man is a goddamn maniac.]

Nevertheless, I...well. I have some news that you could take one way or the other, as good or bad.

Let's just say I didn't wake up in New Bark Town, when I arrived here.

[Riku's smart enough to piece two and two together. There's really only one alternative, and while a wide-eyed look flashes across his face for a brief moment, his expression quickly takes a tern for the stern, and he gives her a nod.]

Could be good. One of our previous members was a double agent. Problem was, he got caught-- how well do you think you'd be able to play along? If they don't have any reason to suspect you, you might be able to get all kinds of inside intel.

I have experience with being a member of an organization like Team Rocket; I'm confident I'll be able to fit in. My only issue is...

[Biting her lip, Emmy falls silent and looks away from the camera. How to put this, how to put this...]

...there are some current members of the team who knew me the last time I was in Johto, back when I was just a regular trainer. They...they know I'd never be a true member of Team Rocket. One of them is a close friend of mine, so that's alright, but the other...let's just say we don't get along. I'm concerned that he'll be a problem, but I'm confident I'll be able to handle it.

[...although...]

...what happened to the double agent? The one who was caught?

[He listens first, taking careful note of her words. That is a pretty big roadblock, after all. It's one thing to have a friend there, but an enemy? And what if that enemy catches on?

He reaches for his chin, brows knitting.]

Well, if you need backup, I'm sure we can work something out. As for Ren... well, he got dumped on an island and had a bunch of his Pokémon stolen. The one upside is that he was able to slip under the radar for more than a year. I just don't know the best way to prepare for something like that without knowing all of Team Rocket's resources. Seems like building a tough team would be a good way to start, but with your experience, I doubt that'll be an issue.

Sora'd say to look on the bright side, anyway. It's been stressful, but I'd like to think we can rebuild the team even stronger than before.

[A small flash of fear goes across Emmy's face as Riku mentions Ren's fate, but she manages to rid herself of it quickly enough.]

You're definitely right about the Team building thing; having no Level 100 Pokemon bothers me greatly. I used to have about fifteen of them.

[She laughs softly after that comment, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes. Try as she might, it's still nigh impossible to rid herself of thoughts of her previous Pokemon - particularly the ones she was close to.]

As it stands, I've stayed in Goldenrod to focus on training, so if you need anything done in the city, just give me a call. I'm going to see what kind of information I can get from the Rocket Base, although being a fresh Grunt, I might not be able to obtain anything groundbreaking.

I'm just pleased to know that the PGC is still around, regardless of size!

[He considers bringing that up, but hesitates. After all, he can't imagine what it's like to lose so many close companions. Where could they have gone? The wild? Captured? Just... gone?

He'll try not to rub salt in the wound by focusing on more pressing matters.]

Hmm, for now, I'd say just keep an eye out for suspicious activity. If you can get info, that's great. Every bit counts.

And believe me, that feeling's mutual. I couldn't just let it die after all the work Light put into it. I just wish it was easier to keep it all together. Still got some pretty big shoes to fill...

[Nodding, Emmy widens her smile a bit.]

I'm sure you're doing an excellent job, Riku. It's so important that there's someone out there fighting against Team Rocket and their horrible activities!

[Seriously, most of these people are jerks!]

Speaking of which, if you wouldn't mind, I'd much prefer that my ties to the Team aren't spread any further than you or Twilight. It's not something I want advertised, even to our other members.

I can't risk my position being exposed, after all.

[Seriously, she would much rather not do a Ren.]

Heh. Your secret's safe with me. You got any preferences as far as squad goes? I'm gonna have to go over the directory to see how many people are left, but once I do, I can try and contact everyone so we can restructure the team again.

[Because with so many members gone, they don't just need new meat. They need to figure out who's with who!]

I would prefer to stay with Twilight; she was my squad-mate back when Lightning used to run the group, so I know I can trust her. Other than that, I will leave it up to your disgression.
