24th - video/action for Olivine;

[When the feed starts up, it's upside-down, but there's a clear shot of a very angry Riku standing next to a large pile of exhausted Pokémon including a very large Charizard, Feraligatr, Nidoking, Scizor, Lucario, and a Rotom, which manages to float over to the Gear and slowly lift it up.

Riku, however, looks less than impressed.]

Get back up! You can't just sit there.

[The Pokémon groan and shift a little, but alas, they're just too exhausted to keep going.]

C'mon. You're going to keep fighting, you got that? I don't care how tired you are.

[There's a sad sounding vrrrrrm from Surge, who hovers over to Riku.]

See? If Surge can do it, so can--

[Aaaand then the Gear falls. Looks like even Surge didn't have the energy to keep going.]

Can't believe this...

[After a moment, he scoops up the Gear and shuts it off. Those in Olivine are free to see this unpleasant display. A little while after his defeat, Riku's going to be working his team incredibly hard, putting them up against each other.

Someone's a sore loser, to say the least.]

The People's Republic of China, pleasure to meet you, again, aru.

Wang Yao is just a name that the humans gave me to conceal my real identity from most people. Can't have everyone knowing that you are the embodiment of country, you know?

[Yes, he's serious.]

... Huh. I guess that makes sense.

[Sorta. It would be weird to be openly saying that you're a country. People wouldn't take it seriously.]

But you may call me by my human name if you wish, aru. I don't mind.

Anyways, going back to the issue of pushing your Pokemon too hard... I know how it feels to lose. It's not a good feeling and it definitely means there is room for improvement. While extreme methods can be good sometimes, one must also think about their own health as well as that of their companions, aru.

I was like you once, I understand your feelings. [He looks to the side.] Except it was my siblings that I was expecting too much from, aru.

That's what people keep saying.

[A beat, as he glances back at his team.]

Maybe I got carried away, but I wasn't expecting to lose. Plus, I thought that beating Leon would prove a point.

I have no idea who this Leon is, but I meant to give a warning, not a lecture, aru. [He gets carried away sometimes.]

Such things push people away from each other sometimes.

I just can't stand how he tells me what I should do with my Pokémon. So what if I humiliated a Gym Leader? Big deal. And maybe I'm not attached to my team, but do I really have to be?

[... Still missing several points, this one.]

Well, everyone has at least one drop of dignity, so of course it would be a big deal, aru.

Do you mean to say that you're not attached to your friends either?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
No, just my Pokémon. People always get offended when I say that., but I don't see the big deal.

Well, to most people, Pokemon become like family and friends, aru. Like a pet would, accept they seem much better than pets.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I've always seen them as just... Pokémon. Monsters to train and win battles.

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2011-09-17 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, some people see them as those things too, aru. However, I don't see how people cannot form some kind of bond with them.

They are almost like people, in a strange way, aru. I mean, they can express just as many emotions as humans can.

Maybe, but... still. Some of my Pokémon are downright annoying sometimes. Phantom's always screwing around and causing trouble, Terror uses my arm as a chew toy. I keep them because they're strong.

And my Trapinch bit off my ponytail while I was still souless, so I had to wait a whole month or two before it finally grew back, aru.

They all do annoying things sometimes, but I find at least one thing that I like about each and every one of my Pokemon.

I can for most of them, maybe, but Terror's not like other Pokémon. I've gotten some nasty injuries from her before, and she acts more like a wild animal than the rest of my team.

I keep her because she's powerful, but I can't exactly befriend something that's given me gashes.
