	CHARIZARD flies around the sky in search of powerful opponents. It breathes fire of such great heat that it melts anything. However, it never turns its fiery breath on any opponent weaker than itself. Info: After months of wanting a good fire type, Riku finally managed to catch this bad boy when he woke up outside Mt. Mortar. He's a bit large for a Charizard and certainly tough, but Flare is generally laid back for his species. Even now that he's level 100, he tends to keep his cool. That big, tough front he used to have? He's even gotten tired of it, now that Riku keeps using him as a means to a quick victory. And though he's much stronger now, he's still pretty friendly around other Pokémon. Kind of like a bro, just with a fiery disposition. True to his species, he does have a bit of a temper, but so long as you don't push his buttons, he won't bite back. Flare has become the unofficial leader of Riku's team due to his generally laid back attitude and experience. No matter where Riku goes, Flare's always by his side, having faced off against Pokémon super effective against him, like Misty's Quagsire, and come out on top. He might not be a tank like Blade or a jack of all trades like Draco, but regardless of weaknesses, Flare's the absolute favorite. He communicates with a series of grunts and low roars (see the cry link). In Pokéspeak, his sentence structure is pretty casual and informal. He can handle complex discussions, but prefers to keep it simple. Cry is generally transcribed as generic roars, "rrraaaarrrrgh" and whatnot. Prior to evolving, he had a habit of latching onto Riku's shoulders to get around.

	A brutal POKéMON with pressurized water jets on its shell. They are used for high speed tackles. The jets of water it spouts from the rocket cannons on its shell can punch through thick steel. Info: A very speedy and stubborn Blastoise. She may not look like much, but Riku had an awful lot of trouble catching her simply because she kept scurrying away from his powerful beasties. When he finally got her cornered, she didn't back down, even though one hit knocked her out. Because he was so impressed, he snatched her up and added her to his team as a designated Rapid Spinner. She has a tendency to rush into a fight and keep on fighting, even when the odds are against her. Grass type? No problem. Electric? Big deal. Because of her persistence, Riku's equipped her with some TM moves that combat her weaknesses efficiently. Although she cooperates with Riku in battle, she likes to believe that she runs the show and that Riku is the one she's training to work with her. Oh, and she totally came up with her own nickname, which is ironic because she's hardly full of 'zen' in combat. She communicates with scratchy sounding growls, moans, and hisses. Her speech is pretty casual in Pokéspeak. Wears sunglasses. Cry is transcribed as "gyaaaarrrgh" and other monstrous sounds.

	It can fly in spite of its big and bulky physique. It circles the globe in just 16 hours. Only a very few people ever see this POKéMON. Its intelligence is said to match that of humans. Info: Draco is a smug, smug bully. He's rough around the edges, not afraid of showing his stuff, and he tends to pick on anything smaller than himself. While he doesn't revel in pain the same way that Quake does, he does tend to pick fights where he shouldn't and will use his best moves even against weaker foes. Why? To show who's boss. He seems to harbor some resentment for Riku's older Pokémon, especially Flare, who continues to act as his favorite. Fortunately for Draco, he's become a staple on Riku's team over the past few months due to his strength and drive, having surpassed Quake in terms of favoritism. This shows by the sheer number of moves Riku's taught him, going so far as to seek out move tutors just to ensure his move pool covers everything possible. In turn, Draco fights 'til his last breath, using his broad moveset to catch enemies off guard. Sometimes he sweeps, sometimes he stalls. It all depends on who and what he's facing and what'll ensure a smooth victory. Recently, Riku's been training him in the ice room at the Training Center to improve his endurance. While his ice weakness will never go away, Riku believes that putting his Pokémon against their elements will push them even further in battle and allow them to reach their full potential. Frequently spars with Slash and Quake. He's not as fat as most Dragonites and has a distinctly meaner look to him. Communicates with high pitched roars and growls. Cry is generally transcribed as "BaoOoOOoOOo". When he's angry, there there's a more distinct growl to it. His speech patterns in Pokéspeak are incredibly casual and kinda rough.

	By catching the aura emanating from others, it can read their thoughts and movements. A well-trained one can sense auras to identify and take in the feelings of creatures over half a mile away. Info: Ace likes to think of herself as the brains of Riku's team. She at least tries to keep the boys in line, even her own trainer. But when she's not mediating or pushing them along, she's pretty friendly, albeit sassy. She's got a playful sense of humor and is pretty upbeat, and while she may roll her eyes at Riku at times, she's genuinely fond of him.

	When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed. Info: Quake is one of Riku's more unruly Pokémon. Ever since he was a Gible, he picked on the rest of Riku's team, tried to take a bite out of his friends, and generally behaved like a little brat. Ever since he's evolved, that behavior's only gotten worse. He's bigger, stronger, and ten times as fierce. Quake will pick fights with strange Pokémon whether they like it or not. In battle, he's aggressive and shows no mercy, even to monsters much weaker than him. His philosophy is that if you can't take the heat, get out of the fire, otherwise you're toast. He communicates with loud and sharp roars in addition to growls and grunts. In Pokéspeak, he uses informal speech and tends to be incredibly rude. Once a bully, always a bully.

	It swings its eye-patterned pincers up to scare its foes. This makes it look like it has three heads. Its wings are not used for flying. They are flapped at high speed to adjust its body temperature. Info: Obtained as an egg in exchange for a Riolu. Ever since she hatched, Blade has been extremely attached to Riku. She's prone to clinginess, blind praise, and overall obsession. A fangirl in a bug body, essentially. In her opinion, there is nobody better than Riku, both as a trainer and a person. Say bad things about him, and she'll go off on a rant about how amazing he is... which to the average person sounds like high pitched shrieks and squeals. Although she's evolved, she still likes her nickname. When Riku offered to change it, she declined. She might not have sharp scythes anymore, but she still does enjoy sparring whenever she gets the chance. Cries are transcribed with a sort of "shrIiIiIiI" sound to them.

	NIDOKING’s thick tail packs enormously destructive power. With one swing, it can topple a metal transmission tower. Once this POKéMON goes on a rampage, there is no stopping it. Its steel-like hide adds to its powerful tackle. Its horns are so hard, they can pierce a diamond. Info: Slacker, despite being Riku's starter, is the Pokemon he was the harshest to. It all started when he lost his first battle against Sora's Growlithe, and since then, he's been working him to the bone in order to make him stronger. But his cautious and silly nature led to him either being afraid of attacking Pokemon or trying to goof off with silly displays of affection, both of which earned him the nickname "Slacker". Despite his dislike of harsh battles, Slacker continued to fight, even when he grew tired, simply to impress Riku. With Highwind in the party, he became even more determined to put aside his fears and fight until Riku became proud of him. It's just too bad that, once he evolved, all the stress from his training started to accumulate. For a good while he behaved violently due, not even listening to Riku's orders, though he has calmed down a little since Riku gave him a well-deserved break. Since then, he's become more competent of a fighter, although he's still quite derpy and isn't particularly interested in fights. More over, he's had some trouble adjusting to being a bipedal creature and his increased bulk. As he's now at a high level, Riku doesn't train him as heavily as he used to, but he does try to get some time in to keep him in top form. Slacker speaks with growls, grunts, snorts, and so on. His sentence structure is extremely informal, and he's a bit of a derp. Cry is transcribed as "graaau," "gruh," and so on. Generally, his growls have a distinct g sound to them.

	It spreads its gorgeous wings widely to intimidate enemies. It races through the skies at Mach-2 speed. Its large talons are feared as wicked weapons. Info: Highwind is a very prideful Pidgeot, something he's retained even after evolution. From the very start, he was arrogant and always willing to fight. Due to his similarities to his trainer, Highwind respects and follows Riku, even with his strict training routine. Because of Riku's favoritism, a sort of rivalry sprung up between him and Slacker, with Highwind often taunting and picking on the other to egg him on. When he's not in battle, Highwind is typically calm and collected and often uninterested in those around him, though he's prejudice against Pokémon that refuse to evolve. In battle, he fights viciously and with little remorse. Riku doesn't train Highwind as frequently as he'd used to, especially now that's he's level 100. Plus, Riku's obtained new flying types like Flare and Gear, whose type combinations better suit his needs. As a result, Highwind is far more irritable now, throwing a fit whenever Riku puts him into the PC.

	HAUNTER is a dangerous POKéMON. If one beckons you while floating in darkness, you must never approach it. This POKéMON will try to lick you with its tongue and steal your life away. Info: A pesky, mischievous ghost who tends to troll everyone, even his trainer. Though he has gained a slight bit of respect for Riku since he stopped being so harsh, he still doesn't feel all that attached and is prone to his typical mischief as usual. While he seems to listen to his trainer more, he still often does things to intentionally frustrate him, such as randomly leaving his Pokeball, pulling pranks on unsuspecting people, and, of course, using his Lick. Maybe it's his way of being affectionate or just a ghost Pokemon thing. Though eerily quiet, Phantom enjoys trickery, specifically sneaking up on people to give them a scare. Lately, he's become incredibly mischievous and often escapes from his pokéball to pull pranks around town. It's gotten to the point where Riku keeps him in the PC most of the time, just so he won't get in trouble. It should be noted that Phantom refuses to evolve because he thinks Gengars look like oversized teddy bears. Totally not scary, in his book.

	Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc. Info: Surge doesn't have a lot to say. In fact, the most noise you'll hear out of it is whirs and whistles. Jolly by nature, Surge almost constantly smiles, greeting others with curiosity. It doesn't seem to mind all the training Riku puts it through, nor does it care about Highwind's snobbish nature and Phantom's love of pranks. In fact, as a ghost, it doesn't mind scaring people on occasion, although it would much rather entertain. At the moment, Riku has yet to provide it with any appliances to change forms, but once he finds out about that little quirk, he'll probably jump at the chance.

	Although it has a massive body, its powerful hind legs enable it to move quickly, even on the ground. When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up. Info: Jaws is a very naive and goofy Feraligatr. As a Totodile, he loved to jump around and bite Riku's head, but he's since grown out of that habit. However, that doesn't stop him from being a bit on the silly side, often preferring to spend all day splashing around in the water than searching the tall grass for wild Pokémon to fight. In fact, he'd much rather socialize with Pokémon, sniffing and playing around. Unfortunately, he doesn't take his large size into account a lot of the time, coming across as a bit intimidating. Of Riku's team, he gets along the best with Slacker, as they're both alike in many ways. However, while Slacker is cautious, Jaws has the tendency to just do things on whim and sometimes does get on the Nidoking's nerves. Still, his heart's in the right place.

He doesn't speak, instead communicating through telepathy with both Riku and his teammates. He also tries to approach battles in a logical fashion, weighing out the odds before making his moves. He had a brief fling with Ace that ended tragically. This occurred when Riku was breeding for Riolu eggs. Since then, neither Pokémon will speak to the other, and Riku has to be careful when the two are out at the same time. Ever since he lost his match against Leon and got lectured by countless trainer, Riku's been trying to 'connect' with his team. Psyche's telepathy is a means to understand them better, so Riku is currently using him as an interpreter of sorts. Psych doesn't mind being in the box or his Pokéball, but he accepts that Riku lets his team out most of the time.

Though he does enjoy swindling eggs from time to time, he tends to treat other Pokémon with at least some respect. Furthermore, he's highly tolerant of his team mates' recklessness and even manages to calm Quake down with threats of ice beam. When he's not battling, Slash enjoys looking at books, if only to appear smart. He can read and write quite well, though he's determined to push further than that and master human speech. He communicates verbally with yowls, squeaks, and sometimes hisses and growls. This translates to very formal speech when conversing with other Pokémon. He can also communicate by scratching signs into boulder sand other surfaces. Generally, his cry is transcribed as "Nyaaaaaa," with some hissing and growls thrown in. Because he's stubbornly trying to speak like a human, he refuses to use his normal vocalizations.

Lift, despite being a tough fighting type, is generally modest in her abilities. She doesn't consider herself anything special, just another Pokémon who happens to be of the fighting persuasion. Sure, she'll evolve to be a massive muscle beast that hoists chunks of concrete. So what? Generally speaking, she maintains a friendly and helpful demeanor. ...though helpful in her eyes typically means scattering things around when she's trying to help Riku find a certain item in his pack or maybe a snack. She's got sticky fingers, to say the least, and if she finds something new and shiny, she's sure to scoop it up and bring it straight to her trainer in order to impress him. Like Venus, she tends to stick up for Fault, whose timid demeanor occasionally leads to hm getting picked on. Since her evolution, her cry has changed to a deep and throaty grunt. It has a slight "grooooo" sound to it. She's currently helping set up the Training Center and may be seen around Celadon hauling around supplies.

While his determination often prompts him to get into trouble, he's a loyal companion who'll stand up for his teammates without question.
