[The feed begins with a rather unusual shot. Namely, the tail end of a very black Charizard... squeezing herself underneath a bed. Or rather, trying and failing miserably.

There's an exasperated sigh as the camera turns to Riku.]

Anyone got tips for dealing with a Pokémon that has serious self-esteem issues? Cinder's always been timid, but ever since she's evolved, she's been trying to bury herself under my bed. And no amount of talking to her's convinced her to get out.

Grooogh... Grrarrghhhh!

[That'd be said Charizard, squirming, tail thumping against the floor. No, she doesn't wanna come out! Now she looks even less like Flare than before, and that's bad!

Riku promptly slaps his palm over his face. There's some chuckling from off camera soon after.]

I cood try and find Frrrr... Fyyy... Sigh, Farare, I suppose. We did have urgent business, anyway.

Yeah. I was getting there.

[Turning the camera away from the bed, the cameramon follows Riku closer to the doorway.]

So, while I wait for Flare to get his butt over here, there's something else I need to talk about. Well, me and my team. See, the other day, they up and decided that they want to be responsible parents. So, if you've ever bought an egg from me, could you at least tell me how the Pokémon are doing? If you can bring them on camera, even better.

After one of Flare's eggs hatched small, I just want to check in. Not just because of health, either; I'd love to hear how they're doing, period.

[And with that, he ends the feed. Time to try dragging out a seven-foot dragon before she breaks his bed... Sigh.]

[Sollux sings an exceptionally flat and uninterested jingle as soon as the feed turns on. What's being captured on video, however, is not his lispy mug for once; it's an Eevee, making herself comfortable on some hotel's armchair. The expression she's giving the camera is one of deep, intense judging, but eventually she loses interest in it altogether and rests her head on her paws for a nap. Sollux moves the camera back to himself.]

Naginata here's from you. She's doing fine, but have fun getting her to agree to an Evolution. None of them are good enough for her delicate sensibilities.

[There's an Umbreon lurking in the background, ears flicking. Oh, is that one of her brood? Hnnn...

Her eyes narrow, and she plants herself behind Riku, just... leering.]

So she's stubborn, huh? Well, if worse comes to worst, you could always throw a stone at her and leave it at that.

[But that is kinda harsh, all things considered.]

[He snickers.] I think she'd claw my face off. [Meanwhile, a Shiny Mienfoo climbs up onto the chair to sit down on one of the arms, and Sollux moves the Gear over again to show him to Riku for a second.] Plus, this guy would talk my ear off for an hour about the importance of Evolution and letting Pokémon decide for themselves, in a language I don't even understand.

[And when he pulls it back, he notices the Umbreon.] That Umbreon her parent, back there?

See, my Pidgeot would probably argue that Pokémon that won't evolve are miserable wastes of existence that should get eaten because they can't provide any value to the world by staying small and weak.

[Hrmph. Shade tilts her nose up and closes her eyes.]

And yeah, she is. Not that Shade's got a very motherly attitude.

Your Pidgeot should get into Alternian politics. [He sniggers, completely ignoring the fact that Riku may or may not know what Alternian politics is actually like.]

Huh, I guess bitchiness really is hereditary.

Oh gosh. He'd be the worst politician out there.

[More like a dictator, really, with that attitude.]

And yeah, I guess it is. I've heard horror stories about some of Terror's offspring, for one.

Which is why I said Alternian politics. [Smirk.] ...Terror? With a name like that, I can imagine.

Did you name her before or after you figured that out?

Let me just put it this way: the first thing she did when she hatched was try to tear open my throat.

[Sollux opens his mouth like he's going to say something, but ends up snorting a laugh instead. Schadenfreude is a beautiful thing.]

[Good thing he doesn't have any predatory bird Pokémon (yet), so he's not so concerned, but... christ.]

She just decided to do it on a whim. I'm assuming it's due to hunting instincts or something.

[Needless to say, it was messy. He and his team had to intervene before she made a mess of feathers everywhere.]

[Casually hoping none of his Pokémon are secretly that insane.]

...That's kind of really fuckin' gross.

Yeah, but it's not that strange for an animal... and that's basically what Terror is, when it all boils down.

Still, most Pokémon don't act so... feral.

Ah well.
